Hey, so I haven't played EVE for while and I recently found a good deal for starter pack. So I bought it along with 21 days trial.
I decided to do some mining as I remembered doing it ages ago and I enjoyed it.
I'm nearly trained up for retriever but I need a good build to maximize my yelding.
I want to mine "semi-afk", I mean I play starcraft 2 on pc and have laptop beside me so I can keep an eye on EVE while playing with my team in starcraft :)

Thanks a lot!!

Edit - I found this fitting different thread, is it any good??

I'm talking about 1.0 or 0.9 to prevent any gankers or whatever you call them xD

i mine in a 0.8 system, rats arent a problem, TBH i dont use any tanking modules, just my strip miners and some mining laser upgrades, no more no less. and a fleet of 5 drones. i can even mine with the rats shooting me.

the key is to find a system with low traffic, of course, if you dont depend in a trade hub. i wouldnt recommend to mine in 0.9 or 1.0 better to move to lower security where there area better asteroids

Get that notion out of your head asap. 1.0 or 0.9 wont prevent gankers. If you want to prevent gankers, be aware of where you are mining, and mine aligned. Having T2 strips on an untanked retreiever will make you a big shiney target for a gank too.

A yield-fit Retriever is essentially a beer can, defense-wise. A Procurer, on the other hand, can be set up with enough shielding to require either a swarm of destroyers or a suicide battlecruiser to take down. Of course, it can't fit the third MLU and its ore bay is less than half the size of the Retriever's, but life is compromise.

Ok, accepting that, then what is the term for being pointed in the proper direction? The aim being when you hit warp, you need only accelerate and be off, which is still much faster than trying to warp off while pointing in a random direction.

If you're stationairy it doesn't matter which direction you face. When you initiate warp your ship faces the correct direction instantly, though keep in mind, that is only the case if you are not moving. If you move it takes longer to turn your ship, that is why it often takes longer to initiate warp when just undocked from a station.
