All we ordered was Full Tandoori chicken, it was bad. Tasted like boiled chicken dipped in some ready made sauce. The quantity was very less for the price but that I would understand since am comparing it with Auckland standards but the taste , that's not supposed to be compromised.

I couldn’t believe how great is the customer service . We came from Auckland and was getting late to gisborne . By the time we arrived , the restaurant was closed but they kept waiting for us to give our order. We were half hour late to pick our order.We spoke to couple of other restaurants before them if they could help us and wait for us but no one did so .They were so nice and food was delicious too , highly recommended and god bless them all . Very kind hearted people.

Delicious food in a great indoor or outdoor restaurant . Service on entrance was awesome. Quick and welcoming. Entree was served quickly, although a little slow between dishes as the night progressed. Mains came out half an hour after we finished our entrees.Everyone enjoyed the food, just went a fair bit longer than we were used to. (2 hrs rather than 1 and a bit).

Me and my partner had become frequent customers here a couple of years ago until I noticed that our orders became consistently mucked up. We stopped going for awhile and have come back to see if it had changed and again, after waiting an hour + for our food we realise it’s completely the wrong order. Great food but unfortunately every single time we have come here the last 7-10 times there has always been something wrong with the order. Not worth the headache.**Edit, the owners are lovely people** but unfortunately isint worth the hassle anymore.

Food is perfection.Resided in Singapore and went to India, but your butter chicken and lamb special is way up of my eats list.The taste are well thought upon, the menu are properly cared for to impress and excite, the place is straightforward, their staffs are attentive and knows what they're doing.

There were a few beers on the menu they didn't have, they didn't have yogurt so couldn't make a Lassi. They bought out the meals and didn't really know which dish was which and missed a dish completely. The lights were out in the toilets and no sign of the switch to turn on. On the up the food they did bring out was lovely.

We had malai kofta, lamb with okra, and nann bread. Very tasty meal and well cooked by the chef. We would recommend eating here.

We never actually got to take out a meal, firstly because what we were going to get charged didn't match the prices advertised. When we questioned that it was because the prices have gone up, however, under consumer laws, the price advertised is what they are allowed to charge, if there are additional charges it should be disclosed, which there weren't. So we decided to reorder another meal, this time the $21 dinner deal take away. However, once again they wanted to charge extra because the container it came in we have to pay extra for. Nevermind takeout requires less work/labour cleaning of dishes and general services that cost more than a container. We couldn't be bothered going into further detail with their staff and just left disappointed.

If your looking for a flavourful Indian cuisine..Tamarind provides just that. Service wasn't that great, waitress forgot to make my drink. I had to remind her..other than that I'd still go back as the food was very satisfying!

We thought we'd give this restaurant another go as we had a terrible delivery experience. This time we ordered pick up, i phone at 425pm and was told our order would be ready in 25 mins. At 525 my hubby txt to say he was still waiting. At least the first time when they blamed the driver although the food was cold it was good....this time the food was not good on top of the extra half hr wait for it. And when my hubby spoke to the staff about it they didn't care. There won't be a next time!

Food was brilliant, highly recommended. The service was exceptional, really helpful and attentive....and we got to name the cat which was absolutely gorgeous.Tamarind is a definite for good Indian food.

We were a team of 85 that went to Gisborne for work. We got one of our meals catered for by CJ and his team. They were very helpful and easy to work with. Our staff also loved the butter chicken.Appreciate the team at Tamarind for making our food and being very helpful.

The menu is impressive, but they didn't have pork, which was disappointing. Everything was delicious but not stand-out. Ordered profiteroles for dessert, but the chocolate sauce tasted so artificial it ruined the whole dish. $126 for average food presented really well is not my thing, and I'll think twice about returning. Would recommend to people who are happy with 'good enough'.

We dined here for dinner on 1st February 2024. The Italian food was divine. The menu has a lot to choose from. The wine list has some lovely local and Italian wines. The service was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was enjoyable as it was quite full with people, lovely decor and stunning photos of well known places in Italy adorned the walls. I would recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful set up. Friendly staff, delicious food. The bruschetta, ravioli and tiramisu were plate finishing good. Not to mention the house white wine was divine in my opinion. Highly recommend if you want something different than your usual restaurant. Will definitely be going back

As an avid enjoyer of hot sauces and spicy foods, the Macaroni Rustici delivered a fantastic blend of flavour and heat. I highly recommend trying it. Tiramisu, a traditional Italian dessert was the choice to finish off the night. Will be back for sure!

Utterly disappointed. The service staff were really friendly but our order went wrong in multiple ways.Firstly for our starters, we weren't told that what we had ordered wasn't available, just given the replacement. Our starters were then taken away before we'd finished.On receiving our main meal, we got a different order to what we had requested. We asked for the correct meal which then took 20minutes to arrive, when the rest of the group had finished eating.Upon asking for a discount off the meal for all the mistakes the bar staff and owner were argumentative and aggressive. A real shame. Don't think the food was worth it, could have definitely cooked it myself.Would not recommend Portofino. I have never had such bad customer service.

Very nice and clean, Food was very delicious and filling. Fettuccine was good and portion size was just right. The desert was awesome and yum.It took a while to get our meal,We went as a group and a couple of meals were not sorted so 2 people had to wait even longer.With shortage of staff and the mix of new staff sorted set the restaurant back hence the 3 star 🌟 rating. While the team was short staffed and absolutely packed on a Saturday night over Easter they pulled some magic out and had our table of 18 eating at roughly the same time, the entrées were delicious but the mains were something else! Full of flavor and I'd have eaten more if I could 😅 the only thing I wasn't happy with was the price for a double shot drink for rum and co*ke, a single was $12.50.. a double being $25.The owner and staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our time there otherwise

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight…our 6 year old boy ate nearly all his pizza, he will have one piece left over tomorrow..we loved our seafood dishes and desserts were impeccable…a big thank you to Giovanna, she was so helpful, lovely waitress…I told her it was my husbands birthday and I asked if she could surprise him with a tiramisu and she asked if I wanted happy birthday written on it…that was so kind of her to ask…thank you! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Amazing experience!! - arrived on a Saturday night and was informed the wait staff were short staffed. However the kitchen was in full swing. Even though the two servers were new (amazing job to the both of them)! The service was excellent and quick, the meals were timely and SO DELICIOUS! We had a great time and could not recommend Portofino anymore, definitely the best spot in gisborne! Will be back again!

Not a bad place seems always packed. Staff seems to not get what we ordered maybe misunderstanding. I don’t like to complain but food was great.

Zest cafe provides a comfortable and roomy setting, the food was very good 👍 but the customer service left something to be desired. Improvement in this aspect could significantly enhance the overall dining experience. Definitely recommend if looking for good quality coffee and food in the town

Very welcoming staff, awseome service and AMAZING Kai whanau! I had the Avo smash and it was tino reka! (The bean pattie was yumm)Highly recommend coming here for a kai. Even better, book in and plan your xmas lunch outing!

Cost me $39 for large flat white, eggs Benedict with salmon and bacon. So, eggs Benedict with just salmon was $25. 1 large flat white 5.50. I asked for bacon to be added that cost $8.50 = $39.00.Is that a good price?I felt it was a little steep for breakfast. It took 10 minutes for my coffee to be served to me. Cafe was not packed.Staff were nice though.May revisit??

Coffee wasn't hot. Had to ask 3 times for a jug of hot water and then had to go to the counter and get it.Wedges aren't value for money and the broccoli salid never arrived. Asked to take it away, and 10min later it was delivered to the table. No apology or thanks. They weren't overly busy.Staff need training.

Great Light well spaced venue with indoor and outdoor seating. Cabinet and menu options. Good sized and very appealing to the eye as well as the tastebuds. Great friendly service. Will definitely be back!!

Terrible service, asked for my iced chocolate 3 times and still no sign of it. Eggs were over cooked and bacon was slightly raw. Water was refreshing

We googled 'Gisborne food recommendation' and this cafe came up. The food there is yum! We had egg benedict with bacon and slow-cooked beef bagels. Especially love the beef bagels, cuz it's got awesome combination of tastes😋 What a good start of the day with these yummy food and coffees!

First timer here, greeted with a smile, seated and menu plus water brought to the table. Lovely atmosphere and vibe. Wait time for food wasn't long however we got in before the morning rush. Food delivered to table was scrumptious see photos for how everything looked 😍 was pleased we tried this place would definitely go back!

We’d clearly hit the peak hour as all tables were busy but the staff were able to accommodate us until a table became free.The food was delicious and the portion sizes were huge! The food was tasty and really good but the service was very disappointing. We sat down and nobody checked on us or brought us any water or menus for about 10 minutes. When we finally placed an order half the entres were unavailable and the lady who took our order was confused and messed up the order. I hope they really work on their service because the food is really good.

Good food and service. My favourite was chicken biriyani. Tikka masala and the special curry was delicious too. Reasonable serving size and price.

The place is great witu fancy ambience and so is the service but the food is average, perhaps compared of NZ standards and not Gisborne.Ordered for a garlic chicken Tikka and it was quite bland.Could be a lot better, considering there's no much competition in Gisborne 🙂

Our family of 4 had a great dining experience at Bollywood Stars. Food and customer service both were amazing and the quality and quantity of the food were greatly satisfying. We will visit again for sure and very shortly because food taste is fabulous. Good work Guys.

Service wasn’t amazing. Not even a greeting just a head nod. The guy ended up walking away after we paid as if we weren’t even there. They forgot something in our order. Guess we need to check for them next time. Definitely poor service, will avoid this restaurant. Food was okay, besides the fact that the containers weren’t shut properly and it spilled in the bag. I went here because this place has been giving away free kai on Sundays for those in need! (Not sure if they still do). So with that in mind I thought what a lovely place to go dine and spend our anniversary.The ambience was lovely and bright, we ordered a platter for two which was devine! I then ordered a fish curry which unfortunately was a big let down as the fish pieces was battered and then put in the sauce, and tasted bland. I was hoping for tasty filleted fish in a curry sauce. When I bought it to the waitresses attention she said she'd let the chef know, however I wasnt offered a replacement after waiting 20 minutes I had been forgotten about as the place filled. So that was sad as we had spent nearly $100. My hubby had ordered a seafood trio which he did enjoy. We also got our first two beers poured and served into glasses our second beer was bought to our table in the bottle :( I will go back however simply because I think they deserve a second chance!

Same owner as when I was a kid, same lack of service and quality. This cafe amongst others hold onto their patrons only due to a lack of diversity and competition in this region. Somethings never change. On the plus side my kid loved the fries.

Decent cafe experience. Yummy, tasty food. I ordered the wedges which were sooo good! Hubby ordered the Spanish beans which were tasty and just spicy enough. Drinks came quickly. Only issue was my banana smoothie was warm, hence the 4 stars, needed to be made with ice which is a biggie on a summer day. But the ladies helped add ice to the drink when asked. I remember this cafe so well many years ago, so I thought I'd pop back in.Spent $7.50 on an Iced Chocolate the other day only to be served in a medium sized coffee cup without the cream.Since when the heck did you guys become to tight!I was beyond shocked, how can you justify the damn price. Took family for Sunday Breakfast. Ordered eggs Benedict and got served hasbrowns with hard eggs and no Spinach! Asked for new runny eggs and Spinach. Got Spinach on small dish while still waiting for eggs.Got eggs back less hashbrowns on plate. Got no apology just attitude and dirty look. Husband had to ask where his breakfast was as they forgot it. Creamy mushrooms on toast. When got it toast was soggy. Again no apology. Daughter's breakie was nice French toast. Spent over $80 for terrible service and below average food. An apology and acknowledgement goes a long way for good customer service. Then to top off staff walking around eating in the kitchen area in full view. Probably eating my hashbrowns and hard eggs 😄

I love sofra, the food is amazing and fresh and the customer service is the best so happy and cheerful.... I just want to say that the 2 guys that were in there today and also gave a bad review that's not cool. I was there waiting for my order when you went in there and did what you did just helping yourself to the containers for customers without gloves that could have contaminated the rest.... yes the owner could of handled the situation better but with his passion of food I don't blame him, I would of done the same thing!! Keep up the amazing work Sofra Turkish Cafe Gisborne....

The BEST Turkish in town. My go to is Chicken Iskander or the kebab. So delicious and salads always fresh! I love this place so much have been going here for a bit over 10 years now. 🥰 always good service and beautiful kai.

Comfortably the best takeaway in Gisborne.....Great food and very friendly service. I can highly recommend the chicken burger and chips but then again the chicken salad is beautiful as well. Friends I am with in Gisborne say that the lamb salad and mixed grill are also brilliant. Thanks to Helen and her family.

Great customer service and really good food, had the chicken burger with fries and it was fantastic. Portion size was much bigger than I had expected to get for $20 (probably almost twice as much as what some of the photos on other reviews from a few years ago show). Will definitely be back next time I'm in Gisborne!

Meals were great. Ordered online and ready when arrived.Unfortunately order was incorrect and I got pad thai rather than chicken and cashews (it was tasty). I didn't mind but the person who got mine might mind.Happy to eat again here.

Amazing little spot. Friendly staff, authentic delicious food and Thai beer. We will be back for sure. Also so cute and special how they spoilt my 2 and 4 year old. Forgot to take pics because the food was so good. Portion sizes were spot on, we ordered 2 starters, 2 mains & 2 rice to share and it was plenty for a family of 4 with young kids.

As a Thai expat, I am very selective about which Thai restaurant I would go to. I can honestly say that coming to Just Thai Cuisine made me feel right back at home. The food tastes great, and the service is second to none. If you're looking for an authentic Thai meal, I'd totally recommend that you visit the team here.

What a gorgeous little boutique shop, themed throughout - it’s quite a little cutie. This place offers a cosy, trendy atmosphere, just over the road from the meeting place of the city’s rivers (with scenic pathways). I found myself looking around and enjoyed the art, the installations and the theme portrayed throughout. Dainty little spot.

The food was delicious with generous portions. It was quite busy so it took a while for our order to be taken. Servers were friendly and helpful. It was a little bit drafty around our legs as it is summer but the air con was set a bit cool for our liking. Others seemed happy with the temperature though as they were dressed summery.

Ive been craving my green curry with pineapple for days and i finally called my order for take away. the lady advised me the combo might not taste good so i laughed and ensured her that this is my favorite even if it might sound off. I picked the order and was a bit worried as i couldnt see an extra charge in the receipt and as said earlier, craving this particular dish!! Managed to get table for 4 with no booking on valentine's day. Quite a long wait for food but 2 serving girls did well. Food was well worth the wait and very reasonably priced. Well done.

I think this place has changed hands recently as the quality of the food has really tanked🫤🫤🫤 ordered my usual basil and ginger beef and vegetables and it turned up via delivereasy.co.nz as ground up mince beef not beef strips and was almost inedible with very few vegetables..was so expensive 😬 will not be a returning customer

The sizzling beef plate was our first meal in gissy. I scraped the plate clean. The beef was seared perfectly, the veggies were crisp. And the sauce was flavor without heat, which to me is the perfect spice for that dish. Oh and don't forget to get some money bags to start. If they weren't hot out of the fryer I would eat them in one bite.

Good food doesn't come cheap. And so are the wide selection of local beer and wines. Waiting time sometimes tests your patience especially on busy nights.

I really enjoyed the Drunken Noodle. Staff was very friendly and helped me decide what to order. Food was ready for take-away in less than 5 minutes! Was very hot and fresh and a large portion. Cost me $17.50, so not the cheapest restaurant in town, but value is still good. I will definitely return to try other dishes. Food was so good that I nearly ate it all before I got a picture!

The food is absolutely stupendously delicious. I dare say the best pizza in New Zealand. However the front staff can be a bit more professional in their approach, especially when it comes to serving people and waiting times. If it wasn't for that I would give this 5⭐

I could have driven to Whakatene by the time I got my order, despite being told an 1:15 wait. Over 2 hours and still waiting, Garlic bread took over an hour despite being told 10 to 15 min. Feeling like a hostage for me food.Lovely setting, but under staffed servers and the wait made the meal moot. But this is what you can normally expect here, so jokes on me for thinking this place would improve in efficiency over time.Again, great setting but that doesn't mean a thing if you can't deliver on the food, time after time.

How far this place has fallen. It looked like they tried to save money by using less cheese. This was supposed to be a pepperoni pizza. A significant part of it (the outer part, except for the middle) didn't even have mozzarella. I had to pay $1 extra for basil (you see how much basil is there) and you don't see the amount of pepperoni but you can see that outer part of the pizza has nothing but tomato sauce. It still tastes better than Neptune, but worse than Mediterranean Grill. I used to love this place, I remember the days we'd wait more than an hour before that little pop-up looking shop. This was $26 plus service fee, plus delivery.

Nice little hidden away local neighborhood gem, presenting a very family friendly atmosphere, a wonderful selection of hot drinks (you are sure to find your favourites here), beautifully presented and inviting yummy food. Definitely worth a look -don't forget to have a look around the shop at the varying products - it's a bit of a discovery treat to look around.

We had a booking at 6pm, arrived a little early and had our order paid for at 6:03om. Our pizza did not arrive until almost 7:20pm. When we complained we were told “we ordered at the wrong time”. No compensation or further explanation was provided, and when we ordered we were not informed of a long wait. This detracted from an otherwise lovely atmosphere/friendly serving staff and great tasting pizza (but by the time it arrived the kids were so past hungry we just had to gobble it up and leave)

First of all I feel very sorry for that review, cos the staff is very friendly and except the pizza, everything was great.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the home made fries with the special sauce, this was really delicious.⭐️⭐️for the pizza, Im a real pizza lover and I had a lot pizza in my life, all around the world. And I know its very difficult to find a real good pizza in NZ, but there’re some around. OK these are also Italian pizza shops, so a comparison is not always fair.But if you like pizza you have an expectation, its all about the dough.90% is the dough7% is the pizza sauce3% is just the toppingThis pizza was super burned at the edges and it was also super crusty (thats not bad at all) but the taste was more like a crisp bread then a pizza.

Great atmosphere, pizzas were very good. We got a margarita and a pepperoni. My only comment is that the base could be cooked a little longer, mine was a bit soft and floppy. (On the pepperoni only) This is just my preference though.Other than that, everything was spot on.

Neighbourhood pizzeria never disappoints. Epic staff, always good vibes, great afternoon sun and great pizza. Vegan friendly options. Highly recommend the garlic flatbread with vegan cheese or spinach and mushroom✌️

So glad I discovered and tried this in the few days i stayed in gisborne. It does require a long wait though so i think book online might have been better. But the pizzas had really interesting flavours and so good i could easily finish a whole one myself

Very tasty lamb roast, potatos were perfect however the size large I bought was more of a small to medium in size.Taste wise it was great, amount of food for price was substandard sadly. Large should fill the plastic container not half full.

Had the roast meal with everything, and it was cooked perfectly and tasted really nice. Hubby had chicken and chips, but the chip portion was less than what he expected for the price. But overall, it was an enjoyable meal.

Order a Salad and Pork meat meal, very disappointed $12.99 more Salad than meat and then I ask for a bit more meat than that, replied goes by weight, not shy on the salad though, I could count the slices of meat and the meat was cold, and that’s my last.

I used to like there food but the quality has died down. Their potatoes are about half the size they used to be and some of them are burnt. I know it's not a fancy place but I just use to enjoy the food before. They also don't sell everything they have on their menu

Gross. That somes it up. I tried Asian food house many moons ago and it was not good back then. I have given it another go and it's unchanged. Egg foo is horrible and packed with more cabbage than egg, swt n sour pork just is not appealing and the fried rice was soggy and bland. Last time I will order from there. No thanks.

Foods were great and portion was big. It is perfect for group of people. The staff was nice and one lady was hilarious.They have lots of hidden menu which is not on menu. So you have to ask what other options they have.Also for kids birthday you can get a cute character dumplings as well =)

The food was cooked fresh but sadly didn't live up to expectations. Lots of vegetables but little meat. Only one portion of rice with one dish. The black bean sauce tasted just like gravy. I think their smorgasbord is probably better than a takeaway option

Rude front of house staff. Acting like they have some very large objects were shoved into a very sensitive area. I work with people under the influence and they show more manners and respect than the carls Jr staff we encountered tonight. Food ok though.

Triple cheese burger was really cold. The cheese didn’t even melt. Bit of a bummer, 1st experience here. Probably just go to maccas next time. I ate it as I was taught better than to make a scene in public so here is my evaluation. Sorry.

Girl with dyed hair and the glasses that take my order was very patient even though the language barrier was difficult and we struggling to understand each other. Our value meal which consists of 3 burgers and chips and a drink. The burgers were stone cold, tge chips were cold and soggy. The drink was over filled. We has to ask for our change to be given. Very disappointed in the quality of service and food. Carls Junior normally has great food and service however we did not receive this. We will not be recommending to others.

Food is always fresh and tastes healthier compared to other fast food they have around Gisborne. Portabello Burger is my fav and has never disappointed me yet. Prices are very affordable. Depending on who is at the counter serving , service can be rated from great to meh. Inside is usually clean. Overall, Carl's Jr is the best.

Staff forgot to put a sauce on pizza. It happened twice by now very disappointed. Also ordered chicken pizza and found couple of red meat pieces in pizza. I specifically don’t eat red meat how embarrassing.

Hands down the worst pizza I've ever had in New Zealand. It arrived barely warm and nothing was cooked properly. The pizza base was completely soggy and in some parts still raw. Chicken wings were scrawny, tough and fatty. Even the dogs didn't want it.

Order 3 pizza and other stuff but pizza was cold and burnt. Pizza base has some different type of smell, taste like base is not fresh, quality is very poor. Tried to ring the store more than couple of time and couldn’t get hold with anyone.Not happy with the quality and service

The pizza here is quite a bit off. I lived in mount Eden, right next to the mount Eden branch of dominoes.The difference in quality between the mount Eden branch, and the Gisborne branch is so significant they might as well be different storesI know how the pizza should taste as I was eating them every week.There's not enough toppings, the butter chicken sauce is diluted and doesn't have the correct strength. They don't cut the slices properly. The pizza sauce is diluted also.Overall a massive downgrade from other dominoes stores.Apparently pizza hutt is still fine in Gisborne. I would go there instead.

First time round was ok, second time was much better. Got the chicken and chips from here one time but the chicken was a bit dry so probably wouldn’t get that again.I went back again today and got the pork, chips and gravy meal, this was very delicious 🤤 , loved the combo and the gravy was nice too, my only suggestion would be if you would consider using steak-cut chips instead of fries?, but I can understand it may be easier to serve fries instead of steakCut chips. more gravy would be great too, Service was great and very friendly staff. Will definitely go back again 😸😻

Edited on 15 December 2023: Now the place is called Mediterranean Kitchen and Grill, which suits this place ten times better, since their Four Season pizza is one of the best items in the list. ( My new favourite in town.) A few days ago I did an Ashtanga (mysore) class at Kiri Yoga, and I was very hungry and I wanted to eat something keto friendly. I tried their chicken which is really cooked on a charcoal grill. It was delicious and didn’t make me feel as if I was eating fast food. I talked to the guys there a little bit. So, they have a real chef, and he’s been in Gisborne since June. I was told that its his own dough recipe and that I should try the pizza next time. Today, I ordered it with Uber Eats. I’m glad I did. Four Season, lots of flavours, it doesn’t have that canned tomato taste. Just enough spice, not heavy or oily. Perfect. Both the chicken and the pizza are very reasonably priced. (Around $25) If they had fancier tables, plates etc with these foods, this place would be a five star Mediterranean restaurant.

got Charcoal Chicken satay with rise. For 13$ it was a really nice big amount and with a juicy meat. Tasted healthy and felt good having this meal! We would give 8/10 rate. One of the best places in Gisborne. Definitely recommended and thanks! We will be back!

Went for a 9pm drive thru and they had limited options for food. Could only get a medium cheeseburger meal and not a small. Had to get a soft drink with it and could not purchase a water

Food sitting on counter after 6 orders, there was no receipt with my order, still had to wait for the drinks and a sundae, 2 more orders went out. Heaps of workers walking around. Only ordered 2 cheese burger happy meals with no sauces or pickles, medium cheese burger combo, a sundae and a frozen co*ke, not to happy

There was plenty staff on tonight Thursday the 8 Feb however they were so lost no leadership at all got loads of orders mixed up I waited half hour for 3 drinks and a happy meal. The staff were so lost they were opening up the burgers from the wrappers to check what burgers they were if it wasn't the burger they were looking for they would just stand there and wait for it without moving to the next order. At 1 stage there was 4 staff standing there waiting for the burger they wanted to finish an order. I eventually went up and asked where my order was and the lady said its not ready yet. She then came back up to me and asked if I would like to change my order. Why? So I can wait another half an hour. Got out to the car and the little one started eating her happy meal and the chips were stone cold. And to top it off there wasn't even am attempt at an apology. Disgraceful from mc Donald's. Maby the staff should be sent to Wellington for customer service training. So much better there.

One of the bestes fast food restaurants in town that you can have a conversation with your friends or family or staff or anyone else who turn up. Plus you can have a great meal there the best Big Mac with some chips and a drink value for your buck.

Food was cold. Very sad that i watch four people open our bag of food on the counter to check what was in the bag. Our milkshake was tipped out because it had sat on the counter for too long.Sad to say but if they had a better system people would be served quickervandcthe food would be cold.Need leadership and people would be guided.Hate moaning but i paid good money and i worked hard for it. My moko was crying because she was so hungry.

Yet again another mucked up order. This time an iced coffee with barely any coffee in it! I didn’t have time to go back and tell them that it was made incorrectly and clearly only had 1 shot instead of two, but I’m over having to go back for incorrect orders time and time again. Not to mention 1/2 pieces of cheese in burgers, missing cheese or pickles.. You should be ashamed of your cost cutting measures! McDonald’s is not cheap and should be made to exactly the same standard worldwide. Shame on the the Gisborne franchisee!!!

I don't buy here again, when the only way to buy is the drive thru, the people who work inside hide to smoke and if you look out the door they tell you that it is closed, when it is supposed to be open 24 hours. This happened to me repeatedly

Very lovely staff today. Food was fresh, hot drinks were nice. Pretty clean. Just had to ask for toilet paper as 2 out of 3 toilets had none.All in all, I'd come back again. :)

The place was disgusting, dirty, sticky floors and tables uncleared. The playground smelt so bad kids avoided it. The whole place needs to be commercially clean OR just go through the drive thru. Or avoid the whole place.

Sadly, worst experience yet. My Bacon BBQ burger wasn't cooked, the Cabbie tasted funny, the lettuce was mushy and the chips were ready 10 minutes before the burgers and were not even left under the heat lamp so they were basically stone cold by the time they were ready to be eaten. Server was great however the establishment felt cold and lifeless. I've been left with a nasty taste in my mouth, literally.

I’ve been a fan of BW in other towns for almost 30 years since they started so while staying in Gisborne I was delighted to see one here…..but there was zero delight in receiving my regular CCC order..Burnt stale bun, miserable salad, 2 of the thinnest slices of Camembert I’ve ever seen (impressed that someone can cut it this thin tbh) and about a teaspoon of what I assume is cranberry sauce- flavourless and weird texture, then there was the “chicken” - overcooked tiny pieces and a smear of Mayo….Gone are the days of a delicious, flavour packed burger, dripping in chunky cranberry sauce with a recognisable piece of chicken breast(not sure what they use now?) and a crunchy salad where you used to have to wash your face as you could hardly get the juicy burger in your mouth….not to mention copious cheesy goodness.So do yourself a favour and save the disappointment and jog on to somewhere where they have happier staff (slamming doors, freezers, and ingredients down) who know how to make a burger. Miserable staff=miserable burger.

Very nice burger and lovely customer service, compared to other burgers franchise (Carl ... something ). Their customer service are very bad, that's why always quiet there. This Wisconsin store have a great friendly customer service ! I am back to this store several times already and I will keep coming back !

Lamb Burger with Mint sauce! Best I ever had and real lamb chunks not minced burger meat! Reasonably priced and so tasty! Great ginger beer too. Good for a quick lunch or dinner.

Tuesday night (so not busy) takeaway, beef and blue cheese burger and fries. Fries come with a choice of dipping sauce, so since blue cheese sauce was an option it had to be that. Burger was a tasty two handed affair. I ordered in store so had a short wait while my burger and fries were cooked. Waiting area clean and comfy. Service was polite and efficient.
