Seattle, you were a brilliant host for Open Source Summit NA. Got to nerd out over Admission Control, complex distributed computing patterns, learn about some new projects, contribute to Open Source, hang out with the team and meet bright industry folks solving similar problems in different ways. Very proud of my colleague Kimberley Schaefer in her first tech conference chat where she played Peggie and stole the show! Catch the video here....https://lnkd.in/evtN9X5BDefense Unicorns 🦄

I'm at the The Linux Foundation Open Source Summit North America in beautiful city of Seattle representing Defense Unicorns and Pepr!!Pepr has really fresh take on writing Kubernetes Operators and Admission Controllers. It harnesses all of the expressiveness, flexibility, and type-safety of TypeScript to define which resources you need to watch, and how to react to change events.- It comes with a Kubernetes Client- It uses Server Side Apply- It tracks events through Kubernetes Admission Control and the Kubernetes Watch API- It has an expressive and simple API that developers love.We are using Pepr internally to alleviate the pain of large and complex deployments with automatic wiring network policy, virtual services and more upon application deployment, while prescribing strict security standards across the whole cluster through policy and mutation to enforce sane defaults. Can't wait to chat with you on Thursday!https://lnkd.in/erDM3V8Rhttps://lnkd.in/eYEN3NkA (Workshop)Kimberley Schaefer

Thankful to the organizers of DevOpsDays Raleigh 24 for selecting Pepr to be featured as one of the workshops and for another year of this brilliant conference.Networking with people like one of the god father's of modern devops (co author of devops handbook) John Willis and the brilliant Marino Wijay is always a pleasure exchanging ideas.Defense Unicorns for building products out in the open and allowing us to go out there and advocate for them. 1k line workshop and it all went well- thanks Austin Abro too.See you in Seattle!

Enjoyed chatting about Kubernetes Controllers on day 1 of KCD México. Met many smart people solving difficult problems in innovative ways. (Hopefully some with Pepr 😊)The event has been extremely well organized making it easy to chat, connect, and share all around.Looking forward to what day 2 brings!!#CCOS 🇲🇽Defense Unicorns 🙏#pepr#kubernetes #cloudnative #cncf

I'm loving having the opportunity to get out and talk about our product PEPR and how it has changed the way we do complex deployments and configuration .. Thank you DevOpsDays Raleigh. Also so excited to chat at KCD México el Viernes!!! And eventually Open Source Summit in Seattle! But Why Pepr??❓❓ Pepr ❓ ❓ Because stuff in your cluster can be hard and Pepr makes it easier.Because Pepr brings autocomplete to Kubernetes.Because Pepr has a straight API... When...a Pod...isCreatedOrUpdated...InNamespace...WithLabel...Mutate...ValidateBecause after 3 outages for the same reason, you realize that legacy knowledge can be automated and you are not getting paged anymore.Because control should be delegated to the infrastructure so that you are not doing the same things over and over for each application.Because the have the power of a full programming language throw at events that come in during Admission Phases and Watch streams#peprhttps://lnkd.in/erDM3V8RDefense UnicornsDevOpsDays Raleigh

Pepr is now officially available in Iron Bank! Thanks to the team and the nice folks at Iron Bank that helped us get in there. The Software World feels so small at times.. In 2019 & 2020 I was at Red Hat in the Cloud Native Runtimes practice and I found myself out in Colorado Springs building out what became known as the VAT for Platform 1 with team of talented engineers like Jordan McClintock, Andy Godish, Morgan V., Kevin Hennessy and Cole and other really cool people who I can't remember but wish I could. (and now I work with Jordan and Cole at Defense Unicorns)Last night at 10pm we officially got Pepr into Iron Bank and I used the VAT this time as an external user.... ⭕ Then, today, we dropped v0.25.0 of Pepr with a new Reconcile feature for maintaining the state consistency of Kubernetes. Employs a Queue to force sequential processing of resource states once they are returned by the Kubernetes API. Greatly reduces the load for Operator developmenthttps://lnkd.in/g2dzDDgK#defenseunicorns 🦄
