Christ. What an awful bit of business.

Agreed...proof if it were ever needed that our club has more money than sense!

Green is the way, the only way!

I don't believe we paid much up front for Fankaty Dabo, but his £5,300 a week cost us another 250k loss.

Thank goodness for "sustainability in Sport" or we would be in a right mess

What a complete waste of money.....we drive a hard bargain in signing rubbish....or not.

There have been a number of denials, including Dale, that we paid anywhere near £350k for McCann so hopefully not quite the awful bit of business it looks like.

Excellent young player, and would only get better. Quite a loss, if he is going.

Sorry to go against the grain but I never rated McCann at all. Overrated.

Pull back houses get smaller, push forward houses get bigger.

I know it's easy to say £50k represents a very poor return but it's befitting of him. More often than not, he was a similar story on the pitch: underwhelming, although he had his moments. I'm not sure how much that was his fault.

he would /will be quite a 'hit' in the national league if he does stay ,and i hope he does .

needs a season getting his game together at a lower level, proving he has 'got it' and then either getting promoted with fgr(unlikely ) or attracting efl2 interest at christmas /next summer and working his way back to a higher level.

he'll have an agent though convincing him he is the next george best and encouraging him to go somewhere, whereas he just needs a settled run in a side where he can shine-as opposed to be a squad player at a higher club, and to be prepared to work hard to make his way back up through his own efforts .

he needs to be patient ,and medium term that will pay off for him

                  thats what Ebou did

We clearly overpaid for him (even £75-100k is steep at lower L1/L2 level) but it also has to be said that the majority of McCann's best performances came under SC. It really makes a difference to play under a decent manager, a privilege not many of our players have enjoyed over the majority of the past 2 seasons.

Our recruitment of managers/DoF's/footballing structure has been the biggest issue, and has led to a lot of money being wasted on players that either aren't good enough, don't fit into our system or even worse have talent but haven't been coached well enough to consistently get the best out of them. For me McCann fits into the third category, I think he'll be a decent player for someone under a decent manager in the right system.

I also think that McCann improved under Steve C and would be best served getting another season under his young belt with us and under a decent manager. I wasn’t a fan for the first year of his time with us but he has developed and scored goals. He could make another step up but I’d like to see him do it with us.

Windmills on a Friday, a great day to bring in some new players...or shift a few on...just before the weekend and with only ten days or so until the likely start of pre-season training.

I don't really have my finger on the pulse, avoiding social media as if it was plague ridden, but has anyone heard any rumours of player arrivals or departures?

inevitable that some will leave-but for me-why would you actually want to see anyone move on from the squad as it stands-i dont see anyone in there (possibly one ) who is not of national league quality.

in reality-i think there will be at least 6 - departures, but i would be happy for all to stay from squad as it stands
