•LAWRENCE COUNTY FAIR: through Aug. 17, Lawrence County Fairgrounds, Route 108.

•WINE WALK: 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 16. Begins at the Ellwood City Public Library, 415 Lawrence Ave. Second annual event featuring wine, craft beer, spirits and food vendors. All participants must be 21 years of age or older. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at the library or on eventbrite.com. For more information, call the library at (724) 758-6458.

•”THE ENCHANTED BOOKSHOP”: 7:30 p.m. Aug. 16 and 17 and 2 p.m. Aug. 18, New Castle Playhouse, 212 E. Long Ave. Youth theater play. For tickets, call (724) or visit newcastleplayhouse.org.

•TOUCH A TRUCK: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 17, Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, 1831 Perry Highway in Volant. The free event for all kids is expected to feature more than 50 distinct kinds of things that go along with clowns, balloon animals, facepainting, music and refreshments. •BUTTERFLY TRAIL WALK: 9:30 a.m. Aug. 17, meet at Owlet Gift Shop, North Shore, Moraine State Park. Stroll the Butterfly Trail, enriched with native plants by the Penn State Master Gardeners of Butler County, seeking the blooms of late summer.

•FULL MOON PADDLE: 7:30 to 10 p.m. Aug. 19, Old 422 Launch by Region 2 Office, Prospect Exit off Route 422, Moraine State Park. Start the evening off by paddling off into the sunset, then turn around and watch the moon rise light up the night. A limited number of kayaks are available or bring your own. Life jackets required to be worn. Ages 12 and up, under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration required by calling the park office at (724) 368-8811.

•SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC FOR CATS: Aug. 21 sponsored by the Lawrence County Animal Relief Fund and Fix’N Wag’n. $90 includes rabies and distemper shots, flea treatment and ear mite treatment, if needed. To sign up, visit https://bit.ly/fwclincis or call (724) 201-9413.

•GUIDED LABYRINTH WALK: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 21, Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center. Theme: “Living Life with Hope and Faith.” Free. Registration is preferred by calling (724) 964-8886.

•ROTARY CLUB CHICKEN BBQ: 4 to 7 p.m. Aug. 23, New Wilmington Borough Park. Dine in or take out meals for $15 include half chicken, bag of chips, applesauce, roll with butter and dessert. For tickets, call Rob Klamut at (724) 651-4956 or any Rotary member. Tickets sold in advance, only a limited number will be available at the door.

•FREE DRIVE-THRU FOOD DISTRIBUTION: 8:30 a.m. Aug. 24, Cascade Galleria (former Towne Mall), 200 S. Jefferson St. Food for up to 1,600 families. Enter from Columbus Innerbelt at rear. Food will be loaded directly into cars by volunteers. Distribution will continue while supplies last.

•WALL REPAIR WORKSHOP: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 24, Lawrence County Partners for Preservation, 111 E. Lincoln Ave. (across from the Scottish Rite Cathedral). All supplies provided. Free, although those attending must sign up in advance at https://www.lcppreserve.org/

•AIRPLANES AND AUTOMOBILES: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24, New Castle Airport, 406 Frank Farone Drive. Free event featuring aviation and classic cars. Local food trucks will be present and helicopter and airplane rides will be offered. Dash plaques will be available for a limited number of cars on a first-come, first-served basis. •MEMORIES CAR CRUISE: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 25, downtown New Castle. Antique, classic and special interest vehicles. Entertainment by Jimmy and The Soul Blazers, Jimmie Ross and the Jaggerz plus DJs playing oldies. Door prizes, event T-shirts, 50/50 raffle, auctions, food and craft vendors. Registration starts at 10 a.m. with dash plaques and goody bags for the first 200 cars. •NEW WILMINGTON’S GOT TALENT: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 25, New Wilmington Borough Park Amphitheater. Free event featuring a talent competition for youth 21 and under. Rita’s Italian Ice will have Italian ice available for purchase.

•ELLWOOD CITY AMERICAN LEGION POST 147 PICNIC: 1 p.m. Aug. 25, Ewing Park main shelter. Open to members, their families and guests. Veterans who are not members of the post are welcome as well. Members are asked to bring a side dish to share. Hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, and table service are provided. Reservations are needed by Aug. 19 by calling Joseph Fisher at (724) 758-6227.

•”ULSTER TO ALLEGHENY, A SCOTS-IRISH IMMIGRATION STORY”: 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at the Lawrence County Historical Society’s Annex building, 408 N. Jefferson St. Join Megan Clark Young, a professional genealogist, to learn about the second-largest group of settlers in Pennsylvania, the Scots-Irish. $10 per person. •HOLY SPIRIT PARISH BREAKFAST: 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 1, Holy Spirit Parish Center, 117 N. Beaver St. Menu includes bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, french toast, juices, coffee and tea. •THE BIG BLUE RALLY: 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 7, Riverwalk Park, downtown New Castle. Organized by LCA and supported by IBEW 712 and Steamfitters 449. Meet state and federal candidates. Get ready for Election Day. Music, vendors, food trucks, speakers.

•FAMILY FISHING: 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 7, Bear Run Boat Launch, South Shore, Moraine State Park. Learn basic fishing skills like knot tying, casting, baiting the hook and taking a fish off the hook. No fishing license required. All equipment provided. Pre-registration is required at https://events.dcnr.pa.gov/event/family-fishing.

•BESSEMER COMMUNITY DAY AND HARVEST FEST: noon to 7 p.m. Sept. 7, Kennedy Park, Bessemer. Food, vendors, parade, music, fireworks.

•SHENANGO FALL CRAFT MARKET: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 7, 238 Kittery Ridge Drive. Food, vendors, crafters, music, wineries and beer vendors, entertainment, touch a truck. Proceeds benefit the Shenango Township Park. (724) 658-4460.
