Welcome to our Warrior DPS guidefor WoW Classic, tailored for PvE content. Here, you will learn how all youneed to know to play theWarrior class as DPS. Click the links#below to navigate the guideor read this page for a short introduction.

If you were looking for TBC Classic content, please refer to our TBC Classic Warrior guides:

  • TBC Classic Arms Warrior guide;
  • TBC Classic Fury Warrior guide.

Warriors are, for the most part, topping WoW Classic DPS meters. While theleveling part is very tough, due to the lack of end game gear and weak early skills(which lead to constant starvation of their main resource: Rage), Warriorsare more than compensated at max level, with the best scaling DPS and gear loop inthe game. Better gear makes Warriors generate more Rage, which in turn allows themto land more special attacks, which also hit harder due to the better gear.

1.

Warrior DPS in the Season of Mastery

Although the Season of Mastery brings with it a number ofchanges to how you may experience the content of WoW Classic, these tweaks donot include any adjustments to how you play Warrior. As such, this guidewill cover all you need to know regardless of which version of Classic you wishto play.

However, due to certain pieces of content from later Phases now being availableat an earlier date, gearing recommendations for Warrior will be different.Because of this, we have created additional pages detailing your best in slotitems for both pre-raid gear and the current raids available.

DPS Warrior Season of Mastery Pre-Raid BiSDPS Warrior Season of Mastery Phase 6 BiS

  • Highest damage potential in game when geared, due to great scaling.
  • Can become an off-tank on some fights with little effort.
  • Due to the way Rage works, you will never run out of resources, and the moredamage you take, the more Rage you get to DPS with.

3.

Warrior Weaknesses as a DPS

  • Can be squishy against non-Physical damage, as many of the core abilities requiretaking extra damage (Classic Warrior DPS Guide (1) Berserker Stance, Classic Warrior DPS Guide (2) Recklessness, and Classic Warrior DPS Guide (3) Death Wish).
  • Gearing can be difficult, due to the high popularity of Warriors in groups.
  • Solo leveling is slow and dangerous: dying is a constant possibility and droppingcombat can be hard.

4.

Best Races for DPS Warriors

Warriors are the only class that can be played by any race in WoW Classic. While racials are important, look and feel is even more important for manyplayers. These should be your main consideration when picking a race!

4.1.

Best Races for Alliance DPS Warriors

Human is the best race for PvE. Gnome and Dwarfare the best races for PvP. Night Elf is slightly behind, but hasits own perks, which you can read about below.

4.1.1.

Human Warrior DPS

Human is the best race for PvE, as the extra weapon skill fromClassic Warrior DPS Guide (9) Sword Specialization and Classic Warrior DPS Guide (10) Mace Specialization is a huge damageincrease, leading to more Rage to use on abilities.

4.1.2.

Gnome Warrior DPS

Gnome is the best race for PvP alongside Dwarf, due to Classic Warrior DPS Guide (15) Escape Artist, which is a deal breaker in PvP, where rooting effects are the bane of Warriors. They also have Classic Warrior DPS Guide (16) Engineering Specialization, which is quite useful in WoWClassic, due to the power of this profession.

4.1.3.

Dwarf Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (17) Find Treasure allows you to sense nearby treasure (chestsmainly), making it appear on the minimap.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (18) Frost Resistance increases your Frost Resistance by 10.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (19) Gun Specialization increases your skill with Guns by 5, whichincreases your chance to hit with a gun.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (20) Stoneform makes you immune to all bleed, poison, and disease effects, and instantly removes them, which is great against Classic Warrior DPS Guide (21) Blind! Is also increasesyour armor for 8 seconds, on a 3-minute cooldown.

Dwarf are also amazing for PvP, as Classic Warrior DPS Guide (22) Stoneform breaksClassic Warrior DPS Guide (23) Blind and the other Rogue poisons, allowing you to dominate them. Dwarf'sstarting stats are also very strong for Warriors, but this starter advantage isquickly diluted as your level and overall stats increase.

4.1.4.

Night Elf Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (24) Nature Resistance increases your Nature Resistance by 10.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (25) Quickness increases your Dodge Chance by 1%.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (26) Shadowmeld is an ability that allows you to become stealthed whilestanding still when used, on a 10 second cooldown. This cannot be used in combat.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (27) Wisp Spirit causes you to transform into a wisp upon death, increasingyour movement speed by 50% while dead.

Night Elf has Classic Warrior DPS Guide (28) Quickness for slightly increased dodgechance, and Classic Warrior DPS Guide (29) Shadowmeld, which has its uses, especially in PvP where youcan sometimes surprise enemy players with it.

4.2.

Best Races for Horde DPS Warriors

Orc is the best race for PvE and PvP. Taurenhave a range advantage that makes them great for PvP. Troll andUndead are slightly behind, but both have their own unique perks, which you can read about below.

4.2.1.

Orc Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (30) Axe Specialization increases your skill with axes by 5, whichincreases your chance to land a blow on a target with axes.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (31) Blood Fury is a 2-minute cooldown that increases your base melee attackpower by 25% for 15 seconds and reduces healing effects on you by 50% for 25 seconds.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (32) Command increases your pet damage by 5%.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (33) Hardiness increases your chance to resist stuns by 25%.

Orc Warrior has the best PvE DPS potential out of all race /class combinations in game, due to Classic Warrior DPS Guide (34) Axe Specialization, Classic Warrior DPS Guide (35) Blood Furyand Classic Warrior DPS Guide (36) Windfury Totem. They are also great for PvP due to Classic Warrior DPS Guide (37) Hardinessproviding a strong chance to fully resist stuns, which will often allow you to bypassbeing crowd-controlled altogether.

4.2.2.

Tauren Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (38) Cultivation increases your Herbalism skill by 15.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (39) Endurance increases your total health by 5%.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (40) Nature Resistance increases your Nature Resistance by 10.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (41) War Stomp is a 2-minute cooldown that stuns up to 5 enemieswithin 8 yards for 2 seconds, with a 0.5 second cast time.
  • Due to their large sizes, Tauren have a larger hitbox than other races, whichallows you to hit, and be hit from further afar. This can be great when trying tochase a target or problematic when trying to flee from melee enemies.

Tauren has extra health from Classic Warrior DPS Guide (42) Endurance, anda useful stun in Classic Warrior DPS Guide (43) War Stomp, making it a solid choice for PvP. Due to theirlarge hitbox, Taurens (especially males) can hit, and be hit, from greaterdistances than other races. Spells can also target Taurens from greater distancesdue to this, but area of effect spells such as Classic Warrior DPS Guide (44) Frost Nova will nothit from further afar than usual, which is a huge PvP benefit for Taurens.

4.2.3.

Troll Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (45) Beast Slaying gives a 5% damage bonus against Beasts.
  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (46) Berserking is a 3-minute cooldown that gives you between10-30% increased attack and casting speed depending on your health, with theeffect being greater the more hurt you are.

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (48) Regeneration gives +10% passive health regeneration andallows you to regenerate 10% of your total health regeneration during combat.

Troll has the potential to do even more damage than Orc in PvE, but onlyon a fight that lasts 30 seconds or less, allowing Classic Warrior DPS Guide (49) Berserking to overcomean Orc's superior sustained damage. Since this type of situation is mostly likely tooccur when heavily overgearing an encounter, we cannot rate Troll highly for progressionscenarios.

4.2.4.

Undead Warrior DPS

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (50) Will of the Forsaken is a 2-minute cooldown that makes your immuneto all Fear, Sleep, and Charm effects for 5 seconds. This will also break youout of any current effects.

  • Classic Warrior DPS Guide (53) Shadow Resistance increases your shadow resistance by 10.

Undead is a good PvP race, with Classic Warrior DPS Guide (54) Will of the Forsaken providing anextra way to break out of crowd control effects. Still, a Warrior can use other meansto break fear (the most common crowd control besides roots), such as Classic Warrior DPS Guide (55) Berserker Rage.

5.

Best Professions for DPS Warriors

We started this guide by stating that DPS Warriors are the top dogs on the damagemeters. The best way to ensure that you never leave the top is to spam as many Engineeringcrafts as you can afford. Take Mining along with it because, otherwise, you will be running out of gold very fast!

If mining the world to feed your insatiable need for more explosions is not yourcup of tea, feel free to investigate our profession guidesin order to understand what the other professions are capable of.
